Backburner Labs is an engineering consultancy and contract manufacturer. We bring mechanical, electrical, software, controls, and manufacturing expertise together to help clients develop products across medical devices, robotics, industrial automation, and connected technology.

That work takes people across the business. Sales builds relationships and helps identify where we can make a difference. Operations helps people, materials, and projects move. Finance brings clarity to decisions. People and recruiting help us build the team. Purchasing, manufacturing, administration, and other specialties help turn plans into results.

Your contribution might sit within one function or connect several.

The person we’d like to meet

You’re interested in understanding how a business works and where you can contribute. You ask questions, follow through, and communicate when something needs attention.

You care about doing your work well and making it easier for others to do theirs. You can spot something that needs improvement, listen to the people involved, and help find a practical way forward.

You bring curiosity, sound judgment, and respect for people whose experience differs from yours. You’re willing to learn about unfamiliar work and share what you know.

Your experience might come from school, a first job, a skilled trade, another industry, or years of specialized work and leadership. We’re interested in the strengths you bring and what you’d like to do next.
